Sometimes The Price Of Steel Coils Is Not The Key Factor.

Jan 19, 2026

Galvanized Steel Coil Price Forecast
1. International Outlook: The Federal Reserve is highly likely to maintain current interest rates in January; domestic policies are still being implemented "gradually," with limited stimulus effects; overall, the outlook remains cautiously optimistic, and the direction of future policies needs to be monitored. Galvanized steel coil prices are expected to fluctuate between $2 and $3 this week.
2. Supply Side: This week, pig iron production decreased by 14,900 tons to 2.28 million tons; production of the five major steel products increased slightly by 6,200 tons to 8.1921 million tons. Production continues to show a slight upward trend, but as winter deepens, some steel mills have begun to suspend production for holidays, and further declines in production are expected.
3. Demand Side: China's total steel inventory decreased by 69,100 tons to 12.4701 million tons, and apparent demand increased by 293,000 tons to 8.2612 million tons, showing a significant increase in apparent demand.
4. Raw Materials: In the short term, raw material trends are diverging. The iron ore industry faces considerable pressure, and steel mills are replenishing stocks as needed, so iron ore powder prices are expected to fall; the first round of price increases for coke futures has been implemented in some regions, resulting in differentiated support from the raw material side.
