The price of an aluminum-zinc alloy coated steel sheet is higher than that of an ordinary hot-dip galvanized steel sheet. Still, because the specific gravity of metal aluminum is smaller than zinc, the particular gravity of aluminum-zinc alloy coating is only 3.75kg/dm3. In contrast, the particular gravity of zinc is 7.1kg/dm3, so the coating weight and thickness of the aluminum-zinc alloy coating of 150g/m2 (double-sided) is equal to that of the hot-dip galvanized steel plate with the coating weight of 275g/m2 (double-sided).which significantly saves the more expensive coating metal.
