Processability
The processing performance of the galvalume steel coil is similar to that of hot-dip galvanized steel. Therefore, it can fully meet the processing requirements of rolling/pressing, stamping, bending, and other forms.
Corrosion resistance
The test is based on a hot-dip galvalume steel coil and galvanized steel sheet with the same thickness, coating, and surface treatment. Aluzinc steel has more excellent corrosion resistance than galvanized steel sheets, and its service life is 2-6 times that of ordinary galvanized steel.
Light reflection performance
The ability of zincalume steel to reflect heat and light is twice that of galvanized steel, and the reflectivity is more significant than 0.70, which is better than the 0.65 specified by EPA Energy Star.
Heat resistance
Ordinary hot-dip galvanized products are usually used at a temperature not exceeding 230 degrees and discoloration at 250 degrees. In comparison, galvalume steel can be used for a long time at 315 degrees without discoloration. 120 hours at 300 degrees.
Mechanical properties
The mechanical properties of galvalume steel coil are mainly manifested in yield strength, tensile strength, and elongation. For example, ordinary DC51D grade 150g/square galvanized steel sheet, the general yield strength is between 140-300mpa, the tensile strength is between 200-330, and the elongation is between 13-25. On the other hand, the yield strength of the galvanized steel sheet with the grade of DC51D+AZ 150 g/square is between 230-400mpa, the tensile strength is between 230-550, and the elongation rail is between 15-45.
Defects for galvalume steel coil
Since Al-Zn plating is a high-density plated alloy steel, in addition to the above advantages, there are also some defects:
1. Welding performance
Due to the increase in mechanical properties of galvalume steel sheets, the surface coating density of the inner substrate is better, and the content of manganese is relatively high. Therefore, galvanized aluminum cannot be welded under ordinary welding conditions and can only be connected by other means such as rivets. Therefore, hot-dip galvanized steel sheet performs better in welding, and there is no welding problem.
2 Applicability of warm tidal concrete
Aluminum-zinc coating contains aluminum, which is prone to chemical reactions in direct contact with acidic wet concrete. Therefore, it is not very suitable for floor slabs.
3. Coating thickness and steel plate thickness limit
Most domestic galvalume production units are remodeled from hot-dip galvanized units, and there are certain restrictions on the thickness of aluzinc steel sheets. Steel plate thickness is limited to only 0.27 to 2.5. In terms of coating, it can only achieve a minimum of 30 grams per square and a maximum of 220 grams per square.
