In addition to the benefits above, as Al-Zn plating is a high-density plated alloy steel, there are a few drawbacks:
1. Welding capabilities
Galvalume steel sheets' improved surface coating density and comparatively high manganese content result from the material's improved mechanical qualities. Galvanized aluminum may only be joined via other methods, like rivets, because it cannot be welded under normal welding conditions. Since there are no welding issues, hot-dip galvanized steel sheet performs better during welding.
2 The use of warm tide concrete
Aluminum, a component of aluminum-zinc coating, is prone to chemical reactions near acidic, wet concrete. This makes it less than ideal for floor slabs.
3. The maximum steel plate thickness and coating thickness
There are some limitations on the thickness of aluminum steel sheets, and most domestic galvalume production facilities are conversions of hot-dip galvanizing facilities. The range of steel plate thickness is only 0.27 to 2.5. It can only coat to a minimum weight of 30 grams per square and a maximum weight of 220 grams per square.
