Due to the different uses and use environmental conditions of color coated steel sheets, there are many factors that affect their service life. According to the use function, the service life of the color coated steel plate can be divided into the following types:
(1) Decorative service life refers to defects such as fading, chalking, cracking, and partial peeling of the coating on the surface of the color steel plate. It has an impact on the image and beauty of the building, but it has not yet reached the level of use time that the coating has lost its protective effect.
(2) The service life of coating refurbishment refers to the use time for most of the defects such as delamination and rust spots on the surface of the color steel plate, which causes further corrosion of the substrate.
(3) The ultimate service life refers to the long-term use of the color steel plate without refurbishment, until serious corrosion occurs, and it can no longer be used.
According to the types of color plates commonly used in my country and the perspective of normal use of the environment, the service life of color coated steel plates for construction can be roughly as follows:
Decorative service life: 8-12 years;
Refurbishment service life: 12-20 years;
Ultimate service life: more than 20 years.
