The purpose of pretreatment of the PPGI steel coils substrate
1. Pretreatment improves the bonding force between the coating and the basic. By pretreatment, the attachments on the surface of the substrate are removed, the intermolecular distance is reduced, and the bonding force of the coating is greatly improved. In addition, the conversion film formed in the pretreatment is a micro-porous substance, and the coating can fully penetrate the pores of the conversion film to form an "anchor effect" and enhance the bonding force.
2. Pretreatment enhances the corrosion resistance of the coating. The corrosion of the coating film is mainly the electrochemical corrosion that occurs when the water and air in the environment penetrate the surface of the substrate. Through pretreatment, a dense, non-conductive coating film is formed on the substrate's surface, making it difficult to form a corrosion galvanic cell and dramatically slows down the rate of coating corrosion.
3. Pretreatment improves the decorativeness of the coating. The surface's flatness (or roughness) affects the coating film's adhesion to the substrate and the gloss of the coating. If the roughness is too large, the air is trapped between the coating film and the substrate, resulting in foaming and detoxing of the coating. Therefore, the surface of the substrate needs to be flattened before coating. Conversion coating treatment is also an important measure to reduce macroscopic roughness, which can significantly improve the decorative properties of the coating.

Wipe test: can reach 200 times
Natural Salt Spray Test: More than 1000 hours. It is decided by the thickness of the paint and paint type. For example, PE paint is more than 1000 hours. HDP more than 1500 hours. PVDF more than 2000 hours.
The UV light experiment test will take less than 500 hours for regular paint. For matt/wrinkle and high paint, not less than 1000 hours
