About Ral9003 PPGL steel coil
1. Apply organic paint on the steel sheet. The paint can have various colors. The color-coated steel coils are named after it, abbreviated as PPGL, also known as organic-coated steel coils. Because the color-coated steel plate is coated with paint before the steel coils are processed and formed, it is also called pre-painted steel sheet. The organic coating of the color-coated coils plays a role in covering and isolation, preventing the steel plate from rusting and having a longer service life.
2. The substrates of color-coated coils include cold-rolled steel coil, hot-dip galvanized steel coil, electro-galvanized steel coil, and hot-dip galvalume steel coil. The topcoats of color-coated boards can be divided into polyester, silicon-modified polyester, vinylidene fluoride, high-durability polyester, etc.
3. The color of the color-coated board can be according to the sample or the RAL color card.

The primary production process of the color coating unit includes the pretreatment process, coating process, and baking process. The pretreatment process is mainly a process of removing impurities and oils from the surface of the substrate after cleaning and then undergoing compound oxidation and passivation treatment to form a pretreatment film. The pretreatment film is an effective means to improve the bonding force between the substrate and the coating.
Coating Process——Roller Coating
The coating process of the color coating unit is mostly roller coating. Roller coating is a coating method in which the paint in the paint tray is brought to the coating roller by the strip roller, and a wet film of a certain thickness is first formed on the coating roller, and then the wet film is transferred to the surface of the sheet. This method has high speed and high production efficiency; no paint mist is generated, and the coating efficiency is close to 100%;
By adjusting the roller gap, pressure and roller speed, the coating thickness can be adjusted within a specific range; it can be coated on one side, and you can also coat both sides simultaneously.
The curing of the coating on the surface of the steel plate refers to the process that the coating undergoes chemical polycondensation, polyaddition, cross-linking, and other reactions through the main film-forming substances, auxiliary film-forming substances, and curing agents under certain temperatures and other conditions, and changes from a liquid state to a solid-state. The color coating unit of our company uses a 5-stage hot air method to indirectly heat the steel plate to promote the rapid curing of the coating to form a film. The solvent precipitated during the curing process of the coating is discharged after being incinerated at a high temperature to avoid environmental pollution.
